Ice Box Cookies

Well, my grandmother called them Ice Box Cookies, but I've seen other recipes that called for totally different ingredients. So this is my grandmother's version, and I know you'll like it. She had to make the whipped cream the hard way since we didn't have frozen whipped cream then. I used to help her make this dessert when I was a small child and could barely reach the table. Helping her was one way I was sure to get to lick the bowl. :))
Ingredients:
1 – large pkg. lime Jello mix, or flavor of choice
3 – 8 oz cream cheese
4 – tubs Cool whip
1 box of vanilla wafers
In a mixing bowl, mix Jello per instructions. Let cool or use ice cubes to cool down faster, but not to setting point. Whip softened cream cheese in a LARGE bowl. Add and whip in cool whip. Then whip in the Jello,
mixing a little at a time.
Layer Jello mix and cookies in container of choice. Refrigerate until set.
Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on top for effect.
Makes a large batch. Use small pkg. of Jello mix and reduce cream cheese and cool whip for smaller batch.
