Cherished Cookbooks

I thought you'd enjoy seeing these. Above are three of my great-grandmother's cookbooks. The green one on the left is The American Woman's Cookbook, copyright 1941. The blue one is The Victory Binding of The American Woman's Cookbook, Wartime Edition, copyright 1944, and the one on the right is a Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook, First Edition, 1953. She used them a lot, because there are numerous notes, bookmarks, etc. in them. Her and my grandmother both would write down recipes from local radio broadcasts of cooking shows. I'm sure young people today would look at these and say, "why didn't they just look it up on the internet?".
