CHEESE DANISH (Carroll (Arkansas County) Electric Coop 12/00 recipe) Makes a family size amount
recipe amounts (except egg) into half for 2-4 persons
Preheat Oven to 325°
2 - 8-oz cans crescent rolls
1 large egg, separated
1 cup sugar
2 - 8-oz pkg. cream cheese softened
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup sugar for top
Lightly grease a 9x13 (or 9x9 for half recipe) baking dish. Unroll 1 can of crescent rolls & press into dish. Beat egg yolk, cream cheese, 1 c sugar & vanilla. Spread over dough in pan.
Unroll remaining can of crescent rolls & put on top of cream cheese mixture.
egg white & brush over roll dough. Sprinkle with the remaining ½ c sugar.
Bake at 375° for about 25 minutes.
When cool, cut into squares.
